A few weeks ago I was in Central Utah trying to petroglyphs.  This little site was my first stop on my trip and it’s a great one. If the roads are dry, you shouldn’t have any trouble getting to the rock art in any type of vehicle.  Although, I highly recommend having a high-clearance vehicle and 4-wheel drive when you’re out this far.  You are many miles from the nearest town so make sure to fuel up and be prepared.  I had limited cell-service and if you are truly in dire need, there is a BLM station located just south of where the petroglyphs are located.

The petroglyphs are very easy to get to, which sadly, also explains why it has been heavily vandalized.  You will see many unique and interesting petroglyphs such as snakes, simple shapes, and even three very large anthropomorphs (human-like figures).

I stopped for about 10 minutes and in that short amount of time I saw about 3 different groups of Jeeps and ATVs drive by!  (it was a Saturday afternoon!)

Some of the historical names are interesting to see too, such as a Petero Madson(?) who was born in 1866.  Apparently, he carved his face and side profile on this rock.

If you are in the Buckhorn Draw or Cedar Mountain area, then this would be a great stop for you!
