Indian Farm Creek is an awesome little canyon in the Deep Creek Range. This is a very remote area that is a couple hours from any real city. It is quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. Indian Farm Creek has some amazing campsites and is a great place to set up base camp for exploring the Deep Creeks. There is a short but very scenic road that can be driven in most 4×4 vehicles or ATV’s. This is a very granite canyon. Huge granite is everywhere. Indian Farm Creek is the canyon with lots of granite beneath the large peaks on the far left in this panorama of the range.
Here is some of the terrain you can expect to see from the road in this canyon. You can’t tell in the photos but some of these walls are HUGE. This area kind of reminds me of City of Rocks in Idaho. I would imagine there are fun rock climbing routes to be found.
Here is one with my ATV to give you some scale of the rock.
This canyon is worth a visit from anyone who is in the area but I loved it for the several great camp areas. Here was ours.
Indian Farm Creek runs right through the camp and was very nice for washing off at the end of a dusty day.
There were many horny toads that were fun to catch.
This canyon makes for some awesome and unique hiking. You could hike all the way up to Toms Canyon if you wanted to. There are many interesting granite formations and fun rock scrambling. Here were a few cool things that I found. There are also pictographs in the canyon that I wasn’t able to locate. Ill be back for sure.
This is a great little canyon to visit. There is great camping, and fun hiking to be had. Everyone visiting the Deep Creeks should take a trip up this canyon, even if you only go a short ways up the road. Be sure to also visit these areas in the Deep Creek’s:
