The Bear Panel is located right off the side of the road on Highway 279.   The pull-out has plenty of space for many vehicles.  Make sure you read the information kiosk that is on the river side before you check out the panel too.

Across the road you will see petroglpyhs all along the sandstone wall; the largest and most interesting of which is the Bear.  This panel tells a story about three hunters who took down a bear with their bows and arrows.

This is an incredible petroglyph panel and unfortunately has seen some vandalism.  Please be respectful and do not touch the petroglpyhs or pictographs.

There are a few other petroglpyhs including some big horn sheep and other shapes and figures.

I have been by this petroglyph dozens of times not realizing there was this amazing bear here the entire time!
