Please do not touch the rock art or carve your own name on the rocks. Just admire the petroglyphs from a distance.
The ancient peoples of this area seemed to love the Kane Creek area. They left their structures and petroglyphs scattered all around. Some of these are so strange it’s impossible to figure out what they mean. It’s fun to think of the meaning, but we really don’t have any idea. You will see many classic petroglyphs such as big horn sheep, anthropomorphic figures, other animals, snakes or squiggles or zigzags and more.
Some of the petroglyphs can be seen from the road, but for the best views, you will need to climb up the short hike to get close. The depictions of humans are rather large and are really neat to see up close!
Personal Thoughts
I loved seeing these petroglyphs! They were very easy to see and I didn't spend more than a half-hour exploring. Many people drive by and don't even notice that they are here. I highly recommend making a visit!
