Experience. Discover. Explore.
Follow along on our adventure then go out on your own!
To see these amazing cliff dwellings you just park and walk the 15 steps to the overlook where you can see the House Of Many Windows across the canyon. The windows are not actually windows but they are doorways into the rooms.
You may be wondering how people would get to this location in the cliffs. Apparently, there is a toehold stairway trail that goes to the top. According to the kiosk there were eleven rooms and a toehold trail to another room in an alcove above the main dwellings and then the toehold trail would go to the top of the mesa.
Would you have the guts to live in such a precarious location? And just think of all the water that was carried in order to make the cement to bind the rock to create all these rooms!
Personal Thoughts
I enjoyed this overlook because these dwellings are in the middle of a cliff face and it seems impossible to get to.
