Emerald Pools Hike in Winter

Zion National Park – Utah

I went up to hike Emerald Pools today. It was such a nice visit because the Zion shuttle systems have shut down for the season. This means you can drive your car all the way up the Zion Scenic Drive!

Originally, I was just planning on hiking to the Lower Emerald Pool and turning around. But, after getting to the trailhead, I just decided to hike all the way to the Upper Pool and I’m so glad I did! The recent snow melt has made many waterfalls including the 300 ft. waterfall at Heaps Canyon, which empties into the Upper Pool.
