Homestead Crater
This was our first time visiting the Homestead Crater and scuba diving there on our own. I was actually scuba certified here and it was nice to come back and practice diving on my own. My brother and friend are also certified and we rented some gear from the crater.
I was so excited for this visit that I bought a waterproof Olympic camera to get some shots of us scuba diving.
Midway Ice Castles
We also visited the famous ice castles at the hotel across the street. This was when the ice castles were a free and unknown attraction. In fact, they were so unknown that we spoke to the creator of them. I guess he was still working on them. They were much smaller back then too. I think nowadays they are like $20 per person or something insane like that. Back then there wasn’t any slides or secret passageways, there was just a small circular trail and that was it.
