This is a very quick adventure along side of the road. You won’t have any troubles getting to these petroglyphs because the dirt road is heavily trafficked and the road is kept in good condition up to this point.
The Birthing Scene Petroglyphs are all located on a large boulder right next to the road. You can easily see it from the road but there are petroglyphs on all sides of the boulder. The boulder is corralled by a wooden fence but you can get really close without going through the fence.
The petroglyphs are incredible. You usually see many themes with petroglpyhs such as animals, spirals, and human figures. But, I have never seen a petroglyph of a birth! It makes me wonder if this birth was a particularly special one or what was going on.
Personal Thoughts
I loved visiting the Birthing Scene petroglyphs. All petroglyphs are unique but seeing a petroglyph of a birth is very special - I wonder who these people were?
